Wednesday was the 100th day of school, which means in Kindergarten, in the classroom of the best teacher ever, the kiddos get to dress up like they are 100 years old. Jake did it last year and this year it was Brady's turn. B had so much fun picking out his old man outfit and even called himself "Gus!" The funny thing is, Gus was a name Daddy really wanted to use for one of the boys but Mommy had other ideas! Anyway, Mrs. W. always seems to be absent on the 100th day, but her Great-Grandmother "Sadie" comes to spend the day with the kids! This year they had another special guest..."Zero the Hero" showed up to dance, read, snack, and play! It was an awesome day!

Funny
Coming from the back seat yesterday, Jake said, "I can't remember if I've had amnesia or not."
I swear that kid is priceless.

Star of the Week
Last week Brady was chosen as the Star of the Week for his Kindergarten class. This was something Brady was really looking forward to. Mrs. W. (aka "The best Kindergarten teacher on the planet") really knows how to make each kid feel special.
Monday Brady came home with the news that he had been chosen, and he was given the "Me Box" to take home and fill with some of his favorite things. The items and pictures from the Me Box are shared in class on Tuesday and placed in the "Me Museum" for the week. Some of the items Brady brought were his football trophy, his favorite bug book, his shark tooth necklace, among others. On Wednesday, Brady brought one special item in the "mystery bag" and wrote 3 clues for his class to try to guess what it was. He chose to bring his sportsmanship medal from football. On Thursday, they had "Chat and Chew." Brady needed to bring in a yummy treat to share with his class and Daddy and I were to write something special about Brady so the class could get to know him better. Brady chose to bring bags of chocolate chip cookies for everyone, and Daddy and I wrote some special poems describing Brady. At the end of the week, Brady was presented with a friendship book created by his friends.
Brady really enjoyed his time being the Star of the Week, and to us...he is a star every day!

Flag Football is Back!
The Winter season for flag football is in full swing! Jake and Brady are still in the same age bracket so they get to play together again, which they love even more than we do. After having such a fun and successful first season, the parents and kids all wanted to be a part of the same team again. We have 7 of our original 8 back, and we have added 3 new players. However, instead of coming back as the "Troublemakers," J and B are now the "Killer Bees." We have had a scrimmage and one regular season game. The Killer Bees won both games and looked awesome. This mom still hides some tears behind her sunglasses on Saturday mornings. There is nothing better than watching those boys play their hearts out doing something they love. I am looking forward to a great season, and many more to come!
