Pop Quiz

OK hotshot. You have two boys who have obviously been in each others company for far too long. Screaming, fighting, pestering, and otherwise annoying each other. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?!?

A) Separate them. But how?
B) Let them run free in the backyard.
C) Put them both in timeout.
D) Hug them until they are both mad at you instead of each other.
E) Dial 911

You have 15 seconds to submit your answer. Failure to do so will result in a total lack of respect from yours truly. As if that means a dadgum thing.

a) Separate them? In other words, step into their line of fire? I don't think so.
b) Let them run free in the back yard? Not a bad idea. They will eventually wear out. But be warned, at their age, it takes a looooong time to actually wear them out. Also, rest assured, more fighting, pestering, arguing is sure to come out of this together time.
c) Both in time out? Awwwwww, Daaaaaaad....he started it!
d) Hug both until they are mad at you instead of each other? Now that's love...only a parent would willingly take away their child's pain, frustration, aggravation, anything that makes them anything less but 100% happy, and gladly accept that suffering just so their child won't have to.
e) Call 911? Nah, save that for when they are teenagers (when you'll really need it).
Actually, my suggestion is to just let them work out. And they will. They're brothers, so they will fight, pick at, bother, pester, etc. for many years to come. But, they will always work it out.

Now thats what I'm talking about. You actively participated. Good show indeed.

Your suggestion is a good one and is another strategy I left off the list. It works once in a while until someone gets bitten and then...it's really, really, really fun to be a parent.
