The Lake

We needed to take the boys somewhere cheap, fun, and fast. The lake fit all three requirements, so off we went. Yes, we do have lakes in Arizona. In fact there is one about 15 miles from our house. It's not the biggest and the water is as low as it's ever been, but it's wet and free. We packed a lunch and drinks in the cooler and off we went. This was the first time the boys had ever been near a large body of water and I was shocked by their high-level of restraint. Especially B. I fully expected him to be impossible to control with so much water at his disposal. He was awesome though, they both were. At first they just dipped their feet in and threw some rocks and driftwood. Then we told them they could get wet, and that was all it took. They sat down, laid down, splashed around, and doggie paddled in the nice warm water.

We got home a little while ago and now we all need a nap. The boys wore themselves out nicely and we wore ourselves out watching them. What a fun day.
