I am blogging about something sweet Brady did tonight because I never want to forget the little things the boys did when they were young. But somehow I just know that this is just who Brady is and will always be, and I will have many more reminders of his sweet and loving disposition for years to come.
Brady loves his brother with an amazing love that cannot be described. He thinks of Jake as somewhat of a superhero...able to do anything and help him do anything right along with him. To say that Brady looks up to Jake or idolizes him would be a major understatement. They are brothers, however, and have their moments that can all too often get out of hand when someone isn't getting his way. I have learned that no matter what Jake does to bother or hurt Brady, nothing hurts Brady more than seeing Jake unhappy. There have been countless times where Jake has been sent to timeout for something unkind he has said or done to Brady, and it just kills Brady to know that Jake is sad and unhappy. In fact, there are times when Brady tries to cover for him or tell us that it is fine and he doesn't mind whatever it is that Jake may have done. It is also torture for Brady to not be able to play with his big brother while he is "learning from his mistakes." Tonight was another example of Brady being his sweet self when his big brother (and best friend) was feeling a bit disappointed;
The boys each had a piece of pie and Jake asked for another slice. When I told him no, he was disappointed and not too happy with me. He just sat with his sad look and sulked a little. Brady had a little bit of his piece left, so he broke off a little crust and put it on Jake's plate. Jake gave a little "half smile" and said thank you. After seeing Jake smile, Brady broke off another piece and told Jake, "That's all Jake because I only have a little piece left." Once again Jake thanked him and smiled. Brady then looked down at the little piece left on his plate and said, "Oh here Jake! You can have some of this too! It's really good!" With that, Big Brother and Little Brother shared the last little piece of Brady's pie together and smiled at each other the whole time.
Brady, you have a heart of gold. You are so kind to everyone, not just your big brother, and that makes Mommy and Daddy super happy. I love you!!!

That is the sweetest story ever. Thanks for sharing it with us. He looks a lot like what I remember my brother, Brett looking like when he was little and not covered in hair.
He is sooooooooooo sweet! I was like that with my brother when we were little. If my brother got in trouble I would go yell at my Dad for punishing him.
I agree Jen. I think Brady looks a lot like Brett and Lindsey. Apparently your dad thought the same thing when he saw him. I hear he was quite taken with Brady and Brady ate it up!
