Take a trip to Chalkboard Island

I got another bright idea the other day. Much to my surprise Cindy actually was on board from the start. I have been wanting to paint something with chalkboard paint for ohhh about a gozillion years. I just could never decide what. Until a few days ago when I was doing some touch up painting around the house. I noticed a flat squarish surface on the front of the island and the lazy hamster in my head hopped on his wheel and went all Lance Armstrong and whatnot.

So, a trip to Lowes, $30 and 3 coats later...there it is. The boys could not wait to draw on it while I was painting it. Now...they could not care less. It's like they don't want to mess up the perfect blackness. Maybe later I will have to get the party started with some crazy doodles of my own. Truthfully though, I kinda like the blackness myself.

I see some colored chalk in your future and lots of fun pictures drawn by all. Maybe I'll even get in on the fun! I love you all.

Spongebob would look amazing on your killer new chalkboard. Mollie says that rocks!

What a great idea! Maybe we'll get creative one day and find a way to keep our kiddos busy without having to dig the knives out of the drawers!

Wow "O". How casually racist of you.

It was so casual that it went right over my head. Shame on you, O. I still miss you. :)

Great idea...and oh so clever. Now I'm walking around trying to think of a place where Emma could be in chalk heaven.
