Jake's 6th Birthday Party

Good grief. Jake will be 6 tomorrow. That's sad in ways I can only begin to describe...tomorrow. Today, we had his party. A bunch of family came over and helped him celebrate in high style. SpongeBob was everywhere you looked. On the walls, hanging from lighting fixtures, in cake form, in pinata form. Crazy stuff. I cooked some burgers and we played a little wiffleball. Then it was pinata, cake and presents. Jake got some really cool stuff. So cool in fact, that I have to make a late run to Wal-Mart to return one of the presents we got him for tomorrow.

After breakfast in the morning B and I are heading up to school to hang out for a while and then have lunch with the big man. I took the day off work, so I'm gonna stay in class with him all day and all night at home. He is pretty excited for his big day and we are all excited for him. He's turning into a big guy and I am turning into a sentimental old man. Circle of Life, or so Sir Elton says.
