Deep Dark Secrets

I'm gonna do something now that I've been thinking about doing for a long time. Every once in a while I'm going to write about things that I've never told many people about heck maybe nobody. That way the boys will be able to laugh at me as I laugh at them for the rest of the stuff on here.

Deep Dark Secret #1

Sometimes, when I am alone, I talk to myself with a British accent. Sometimes Australian, but more often British. Not talking so much as narrating my activity. I don't know why I do it, only that I've been doing it since I was a kid. I'm reasonably sure no one has ever heard me, but I'm not so sure that would stop me.

So there. You've got that on me.

This is hysterical!! You are not alone...but I don't keep this to myself. My talking with a British accent actually used to bring my son to tears, but my daughter always gets a real kick out of it. So, I had to go easy with one while the other was begging for more. At first it started with me talking like Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast but now she just thinks I sound like "Super Nanny" (read-- "Do you misbehave because you need cuddles from your Mummy?"). So I use this talent to bring her out of a funk...get her laughing when she's feeling a little sad. Now, the other day I came up with a full-on Mexican accent while trying to find a parking space (read--"What? No parking spaces? We don't need no stinkin' parking spaces." But, it just got more and more ridiculous (ie, retarded) from there!) I thought my daughter was gonna wet herself she was laughing so hard.

I have always heard that it's ok to talk to yourself, with or without the accent. But when you start answering yourself you know you're crazy.

OK so if I ask a question as my British alter ego, and answer it as my Australian self, am I still insane?

I think the mere fact that you have thought of that says it all! ;)
