Tonight sucked. Just when we thought he was getting over his little bout of sickness from last week...BAM! Flat on his back. He started running a fever today which eventually worked it's way up to 104+ while I was at work. Cindy called and told me and I told her to get to the hospital and I would meet her at the ER. They got him all checked out right away. Still had a high fever, coughing, headaches, body aches...you name it. They took him back and the doc checked him over really well. She couldn't hear anything but based on what we were telling her she ordered x-rays just in case. Good thing she did. Poor dude has a pretty good case of pneumonia. Yikes.
So the next step was to get him hooked up to an IV and start the antibiotics. He wasn't so sure about that huge needle, but the nurse was awesome and he barely shed one tear. Being my son he just had to watch her put it in his arm the whole time. We are some curious fellows. For being a good patient, the nurse gave him a pile of goodies. His favorite, the plane. Pretty awesome. I can't wait to try it out in the morning with him.
So, the big guy should be alright soon, but it looks like he will probably miss the rest of the school week and his game on Saturday. He's gonna be on some antibiotics for a while and just kicking back playing some Wii. Rough stuff. He'll be back in action soon though, don't you worry.
(By "you" I mean me. I am trying to convince myself that my baby boy isn't really that sick.)

When we first got there he looked like hell. At least he had some Sponge Bob.

His first ever x-ray. The pneumonia is the white arrowhead-shaped blob halfway up on his right (your left) side.

Awww...his first ever IV.

The ingenious distraction toy only worked before and after she put the needle in...not during.

He's not smiling because he feels good. He's smiling because Daddy let him say a "questionable" word to vent his feelings.
